What is Pragmatics?

Pragmatic

Pragmatics is the study of language.

Unlike linguistic semantics, which studies what words mean, pragmatics is the study of how speakers use those words. It also explores the relationship between what is said and what is done.

Definition of Pragmatics:

In philosophy, pragmatism is a movement that emphasizes practical consequences in the determination of meaning, truth, or value. It rejects the notion that words can mirror reality directly and focuses on using language as a tool for understanding the world. It considers the movements, gestures, body language, and tone of voice that accompanies speech as signs.
